Network of Networkers

Ideopolis International is in the process of creating a network of networks, a print and electronic resource giving a cross cultural and broad account of contemporary Liverpool life.

The book aims to broaden knowledge of, and to stimulate research about a whole range of issues that affect everyone at the start of the 21st century. These issues are wide ranging but some of our current projects lie within the following subject areas: corporate and social responsibility, diversity and equality, entrepreneurship, globalisation, inclusion, the informal economy, information technology, knowledge economy, leadership, maritime industry, regeneration, social enterprise, spirituality, sport, sustainability, women as leaders. But before we prioritise future areas of research and regeneration, we need to be sure what our starting point is. As such we are inviting your contributions to the network, as an organisation or as an individual, about what you currently do, what you would like to do and how you would like Liverpool to develop, for its citizens and workers.

It is important to state at the outset that the network will not be static but an on going development. It is our belief that handbooks should be tools and change constantly; again we welcome your ideas to give us strategies for change. Handbooks and dictionaries have a particular role as authorities and women and minorities are often made invisible or stereotyped in them. We feel that it is crucial that we challenge this practice and safeguard against it. What we have endeavoured to do then is to provide an accessible and comprehensive digest of terms, entries, organisations and individuals which we hope will therefore become of more general interest. We feel that this represents a unique opportunity to bring together the activities, ideas, hopes, ambitions and aspirations of many to enable much greater collaboration and partnerships to spring from.

Whether your interest is educational, academic, research related, or driven by economic imperative, social justice or social enterprise our network team would be interested in your contribution.
